It the first budget presented by the new Deputy Finance Lyon, Richard Brumm. A tight budget and "balanced" to 658 million euros due to lower revenue on the one hand the overall allocation of the state stagnated and other direct taxes levied by the city (on the casino or on transfer taxes for example) are declining.
Politicians have therefore taken the time to lower the level of investment in order to stagger to offset the crisis. For Richard Brumm however, the ost campaign promises will be kept (bank Saône, Sergeant Blandan Park, Rue Garibaldi etc.).
Direct taxes increased 6%
To cope with this cut of revenue, city councilors voted an increase of 6% local taxes. An increase that follows the rates of the pound in November last.
The opposition against the increase in salary expenditure
While the opposition voted against the Greens have decided to support this budget (see Article ). The UMP has been particularly emphasis on increased operating expenses related to salaries of civil servants (who represent 58% of budget).
Paradoxically, representatives of city employees regularly demonstrate in front of City Hall. They particularly criticized the Mayor of Lyon shrinking budgets of the Directorate Prevention Health Children initiated by his predecessor Michael Black. "The municipality then had given the financial means to achieve prevention goals in employing doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists ...", you they write. And they add "Today the whole DPSE is threatened with extinction and the City has already now announced that the state disengaged DPSE the private schools."
