Greens approve the initial budget for 2009

The Greens in the City Council voted Monday, 19 January 2009 the initial budget submitted by the Mayor of Lyon. Peter Hemon, on behalf of the group presented the reasons for this vote:

" It is for the city budget a threat that does not satisfy us. It is the consistency with which our President and his UFO OMNI Premier persist to cast the largest uncertainties on revenue of our communities. The OMNI and UFO persist equally to cast doubt on compliance with their commitments in the field of transport or urban policy.

We said at the Debate Budgetary Guidance is less than a month ago that our country, our planet, crossed a global crisis. Today I want to cite one example.

2009 outlook for employment are catastrophic. DARES (Service statistics from the Ministry of Labour) provides for the loss of 360,000 jobs in industry, construction and Tertiary!
